Moving about Paris, and how to get to LIPNLIPN is within a few minutes walk from the Villetaneuse Université tram stop. This is on both Tram 8 and Tram 11. Tram 8 connects with RER D and H at Saint-Denis, and with Metro line 13 at Saint-Denis Porte de Paris. Tram 11 connects with RER H at Epinay Villetaneuse and with RER C at Epinay-sur-Seine. RER H starts from Gare du Nord, which in turns is very well connected with RER B and several metro lines. RER C and D cross Paris. To make sense of all of this, and to find out more on how to connect with these lines, please check out the maps on https://www.ratp.fr/en (the metro map concentrates on central Paris, the RER map shows the greater urban area). A suggestion: download the Bonjour RATP app. You can not only see maps and search for itineraries, but also buy tickets, and check yourself in and out of train/metro stations using your phone (or watch!). The app will also show you how long the trip will be from an address you specify to Villetaneuse Université — at the time you ask (Google maps will of course do that as well). The current fare is that a ticket for a single ride (whether for 1 stop or to cross Greater Paris) is 2.5€. Connections between metro, RER and Tram 11 (but not Tram 8, don't ask me why) are included in a single ticket. 'Navigo' weekly passes, valid from Monday morning to Sunday night, are available for about 31€. Access to the campus and reaching the lecure hall (amphi C): please see this map. For those not familiar with the campus, it is best to enter it coming from the Villetaneuse Université tram stop, as indicated above. Entrance on the campus is controlled. The list of all registered participants was sent to security: in principle, this should suffice to have them let you through. In case of a problem, you can also show the invitation email that you will have received by Saturday May 31. |
